Business Education at Woodmill will allow your young person to experience and investigate an aspect of learning that will permeate into any and every walk of life. Learning through dynamic lessons and real-life situations the department currently offers qualifications in Business Management, Administration and ICT.
The department is resourced by 4 PC labs offering desktops computers and laptops.
Business knowledge is a fundamental part of all careers and as well as studying Business at University, our young people go on to study a huge array of courses including Law, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Beauty. A huge proportion of our young people go onto the top Business Schools in the UK to study Business, Accounting and Economics. We also have links with the large Financial Houses, and have recently placed young people with Ernst & Young and Price Waterhouse Cooper to pursue Modern Apprenticeships in Business.
We teach Business Management from National 3 to Advanced Higher level. Along with the study of multinational brands and global organisations, we also investigate businesses local to the Dunfermline area as well as Charities and Social Enterprises. We compliment our theory with practical activities which range from Dragons Den pitching, product development activities.
Our Administration and IT classes are fully subscribed every year with a vast array of young people who recognise the value of this course not only as a support to further and higher education but also for its employability value as a career path. The skills gained throughout this course are transferable into both university and the work place. Offered from National 3 to Higher levels, the department also presents candidates for PC Passport levels 4 and 5. Also, any young person who chooses to study both Business Management and Administration within the department can be presented for an NPA Business and Technology level 4 or 5.
Business Education in Woodmill High school has something for everyone, no matter what their final destination.
