Woodmill High School

Family Link Worker

Hi. I’m Katie Body, the newly appointed Family Link Worker here at Woodmill.  My role is to provide support to pupils and their families in a way that enables pupils and their families to engage positively with the school.

I have an extensive background in crisis support, family wellbeing and residential care settings, as well as having enjoyed roles within the Prison Service and the Royal Navy. This means that I have a lot of experience of life and I am able to help find solutions to any problem, big or small.

As a mum, and former Woodmilll pupil, I know the struggles that we are all facing in our community, after covid and now the cost of living crisis. I fully understand the conflict that our young people face growing up in the modern times, but also from the parent/carer perspective where what we want is the best for our children but struggle to help them reach this. I am not here to judge or to pass comments, but I can help to support and look for ways forward, together. Sometimes a friendly face and a chat can help to remove some of the worries that we have.

Feel free to make contact with me directly via the school office, or via your child/s guidance teacher.
